Holidays are coming!
Friday 16 November, 2018
Bonfire night has come and gone. Halloween is a distant memory. Which can mean only one thing, it’s time to think about Christmas.
As streets across the UK begin to transform, Field and Lawn has already been hard at work planning the sparkling lights and outstanding displays that will be used to adorn cities across the UK in 2018.
Recently the Field and Lawn Edinburgh team set up the annual Christmas tree on The Mound. Supplied by Conifox, the tree weighs in at a whopping 4.2 tonnes, whilst also being 19m tall. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill Christmas tree!
Field and Lawn has provided Edinburgh City Council with this tree for the past four years and supplies a further 14 Christmas trees throughout the City.
The tree has now been fully dressed in preparation for the Light Night event commencing this Sunday (18th November) at 3:00pm. Light Night is a free event for all to enjoy, which encapsulates the true spirit of the festive season - family and the community. Choirs from across Scotland will perform in front of an expected audience of around 20,000 people, as the skies above George Street will be lit up with fireworks.
